Sister Rosetta Goes Before Us

Strange things are happening everyday
I hear the music up above my head
Though the side of my heart has left me again
I hear music up above

Secrets are written in the sky
Looks like I've lost the love I've never found
Though the sound of hope has left me again
I hear music up above

Standing in my broken heart all night long
Darkness held me like a friend when love wore off
Looking for the lamb that's hidden in the cross
The finder's love
I know I loved you too much
I'll go alone to get through

I hear Rosetta singing in the night
Echoes of light that shine like stars after they're gone
And tonight she's my guide as I go on alone
With the music up above

From Raising Sand with Robert Plant and Alison Krauss: absolutely one of the most beautiful, poetic, spiritual, and intimate songs ever ... easily the best on an overall outstanding album.

Would you believe my mother-in-law turned me onto this album??

I am currently plugging a young group called Vampire Weekend. Just love them. Fresh. Innovative. Easy to sing along to.

And it makes me feel so young saying I enjoy a group with that unlikely name.

Mina: I first heard about Raising Sand on NPR and now I'm a huge Alison Krauss fan. Unbelievable how well Robert Plant and AK's voices blend together.

Pyzahn: My brother-in-law's "working" on a song for you. He's a good acoustic guitar player and is going to recruit my two nieces .... they just need extra time! It should be very silly when they pull it off.

I will check out Vampire Weekend. I'm always been a vampire fan ...
